Stony Kill Closing? The Online Community Speaks Out

The local online community is speaking out against the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC)’s plan to close Stony Kill Farm for the 2010 fiscal year.

The farm and environmental facility, located on Route 9D in the town of Fishkill, is a 1,000 acre working farm owned and operated by the DEC as an environmental education center. Founded in 1973, Stony Kill has provided visitors with nature and hiking trails, community gardens, and environmental information through the Manor House library and various educational programs.
