You probably know her as the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess, but Debbie Gioquindo hasn’t always had a passion for wine. The Hudson Valley native, whose blog about regional wine offerings and events has garnered local attention from wine fanatics and newbies alike, admits that until the 90s she was actually more of a beer and liquor girl. New Novel, Pandora’s Bottle, Features Hudson Valley Wineries

Local native Joanne Sydney Lessner brings an urban tale about the world’s most expensive bottle of wine to life in her debut novel “Pandora’s Bottle.”

Joanne Sydney Lessner has always been fascinated with wine. Even as an 18-year-old Newburgh Free Academy student enjoying a meal at local restaurant Banta’s Steak and Stein, Lessner would ask for a glass of red wine with her steak. It stands to reason, then, that when she heard the story of a man who spent a quarter of a million dollars on a bottle of wine once owned by Thomas Jefferson she was instantly captivated.
